Disciplines

All Vampires and other creatures possess Disciplines… supernatural powers granted by the Embrace. The powers separate the undead from mortals, providing vast physical and spiritual might. With Disciplines, a Vampire or Creature can display the strength of 10 men, bend another being to his/her will, or can transform into an animal. Elders, who have not only learned several Disciplines but mastered them as well, are truly beings to be feared.

In the use of any disciplines, successes are not always automatic particularly in a room where dice rolls are not used. Someone making an attack on another character does not mean that person will be fully affected. You may have to use the power over several turns or posts especially if the level requires successes. Keep that in mind and play fair. The person being attacked may become aware of what is happening and respond with either a counter attack or by running away. Also keep in mind if a character nick has bbl, brb., or any indication of being away you are attacking someone who really is not there (Ghost) and this will not count. Remember that some of the disciplines are exceedingly rare and you can't just come up with one and have it in the middle of the game.

Level 10 is possessed only by 3rd generations players, level 9 is possessed only by 4th and 5th generations, and 8 only by the 6th generations. Level 7 on down is possessed by any others, but unless a character has age behind him/her, he is not likely to possess a level 7 of anything. If your character has an out of clan discipline, have a story ready of how your character got it.
